Ernest Monroe "Ernie" Kinnear
Nov 13, 1945 - Jun 15, 2013 Ernest M. Kinnear was born on November 13, 1945, in Coalville, Utah, to Frank W. and Fern Kinnear; passed away on June 15th 2013, surrounded by his loving family. He grew up in Salt Lake City, graduated from South High School in 1964. He joined the military in 1965, and proudly served his country until 1971, where he had received many awards including 2 purple hearts, with an honorable discharge. He married his wife in June of 1965 which was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City Temple. He was a member of the LDS church, and fulfilled all of his duties faithfully. Ernie worked as an electronics technician for many years. He was known to family and friends was an avid outdoors man, fantastic bowler, great fisherman, loved to travel and spend time with his grandchildren, loved the scouting, coached little league, and above all was the best husband, father, brother, and friend. You have touched so many lives, taught us how to be better people, and you were truly my hero. "When you talked about war, I thought you were superman." We know you are in a better place without any pain, or suffering. Daddy, you will truly be missed. He was preceded in death by his son (Brian), brother (Don), parents (Fern and Frank), and sister (Carol). He leaves behind his loving wife of 48 years, Mary; son, Kevin (Shelly); daughter Karrie; son, Ken (Leigh Ann); son, Marty (Tressa); daughter, Kathie (Brian),and sister'(Sharon). 13 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. The viewing will be held Tuesday June 18th 6-8pm, and Wednesday at the Ward from 10:45-11:45am. The funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 19th 2013 at 12 Noon, at the Granger West 8th Ward chapel, 3305 South Scottsdale Dr.(3940 West), West Valley City, UT 84120. Interment will be held at the Salt Lake City Cemetery immediately following the services. We would like to thank the VAMC for their wonderful services. |
