Asa Lonson (Skip) Child 1945 - 1991 Our beloved husband, father, son, granfather and brother, Asa Lonson Child, age 45, passed away February 27, 1991 at the Cottonwood Hospital. He was born November 5, 1945 to Asa Lonson and Norma Hansen Child. Mr. child was employed by the Mountain Dell Golf Course and by Paul Kooyman Dist. He served in the Army and was in the Green Beret Special Forces. One of his loves in life was golf and working with people. He is survived by his wife, Kathy, sons: Dustan Child, Kevin and Michael Healy, daughter Brook; mother, Norma Child; sisters Corrie Gudmundson, Wendy Brewster, Judy Dunford; two grandhcildren, Maggie and Tyler Healy. He was preceded in death by his father, Asa Lonson Child. Viewing will be Friday, March 1, 1991, Redwood Memorial Estates Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road, 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 2, at the West Jordan 68th Ward, 8173 South 3200 West. Burial will be at the Redwood Memorial Estates Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to the Asa Lonson Child Memorial Fund. Pallbearers were: Dustan Child, Ron Krause, Bob Kooyman, Kevin Healy, Scott Argyle, and David Brewster. Honorary pallbearers were: Dan Buchanan, Mike Burbidge, Michael Healy, Granger Peck, and Paul Kooyman. Family Prayer was offered by Jay Child and the opening prayer by Tico McCurty. Speakers were: Neil Kooyman and Granger Peck with Mike Burbidge offereing the closing prayer. Dan Buchanan dedicated the grave.
