Sherry Simonson
May 3, 1946 - May 31, 2010 Dusty (Sherry Marie) Johnson, age 64, of Dry Fork, passed from this world due to complications of cancer. At home, with her family present on May 31, 2010, she left to ride the trail with the outlaws she so dearly loved. Dusty was born Sherry Marie Simonson, on May 3, 1946 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Goldie (Judy) Higgins Simonson and Earl (Bud) Simonson. She grew up in Salt Lake City as a tomboy with a love for anything old west and she eventually settled in the Uintah Basin to raise a family. She ventured to other areas but always returned to the Basin, which she considered her home. Throughout her life Dusty made many friends. She was very much an entrepreneur, building and selling leather and eventually creating the board game "Ride the Outlaw Trail." When she decided to do something, she didn't let anything get in her way, she was known for starting a fire wherever needed to get the job done. She is survived by her sons, Travis (Cindy) Johnson and Tye (Corrina) Johnson, both of Roosevelt; grandchildren, Kayloni, Brittany, Samantha, Natasha, Kelly and great grandson, Bryce; brother, Gary Simonson, SLC; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother, Judy Norman, father, Bud Simonson and her grandparents.
